Cosmatesque (4.2 oz) - Non-Sparkle Sticklebatts - Romney fleece, merino, CVM/slight mohair blend, tweed blend, Silk

On our trip to Italy, we were awed by the beautiful Cosmatesque floors we saw in many of the churches. This refers to the craftsmanship of a certain medieval Roman family, the Cosma family, who were famous for taking broken pieces of marble and transforming them into gorgeous multicolored geometric floor patterns. It’s very like the origin of patchwork quilts, a sort of “waste not, want not” practice that developed into a genuine art form.

All batts are lovingly blended hand dyed fibers, carded by hand on fine tooth drum carders for your fiber crafting pleasure. 

Please know that all fibers are feltable unless otherwise noted. Handwash and air dry to avoid felting.
